WA4FJC | VA | FM08lf | Imagination only on 20 M. Nice sig on 40M & 80M |
N2GL | ORG | cn85kp | Tnx Connie, your effort is appreciated |
VE3GSO | ON | EN92JX | 20m just barely heard, 40m noisy, 80m strong and close to an USB conversation. Fun! |
W9ZB | IN | EM69xp | 20M extremely weak here. 40 very strong. 80 strong, but with QSB. TNX fer the practice, Connie! |
W4JLE | SC | EM96 | SWAG on 20 barely a signal, 40 and 80 good signals between digital and contester on 80 tks fer the test!. |
W6OQI | LAX | ||
WA7KMR | WWA | cn87UU | The 80 meter signal was very weak 40 and 20 were OK. RX is a Flex 5000a using a HP 3336B external reference. I used AM detection and zero beat with the HP 3336B. The 20 meter antenna was a Quad and on 40 and 80 on a un-tuned active loop antenna.. |
N3IZN | SDG | DM13ji | Came in late, 20 meters measurment done on closing CW. Rig is Kenwood TS-50 |
KK4KAZ | NFL | EL88ql | Nothing at all on 20m! |
W2TX | SFL | EL97qw | 20M: 0.2 uV on inv. vee. 40M: 300 uV on tuned 64 ft. Vertical. 80M; 300 uV on resonant 64 ft. Vertical. Up to 0.3 Hz spread on the signals on 40 and 20. Rx is RF-590 locked to T-Bolt, timecard cal. against local GPS locked AM carrier. |
N6RDR | ORG | DM13cx | Wow! Great signal in southern California. Even off the backside of the 20m antenna. I used Joe Taylor's (K1JT) excellent Frequency Measuring Tools from his WSPR programs. All measurements were with my old Icom IC-746PRO and a 20-meter dipole at 43 ft. |
K7HIL | AZ | DM42ph | Doppler pretty severe here, but fun to do it! Thanks Connie. |
w9tj | IL | EM48wl | Old man couldn"t get with it. 80 mtrs was only thing that came out of the slot TNX Connie |
K3KO | NFL | EM90 | 20M sig at noise level + had a birdie within a few Hz. Did not hear the first run on 20M. Other bands good signals |
AB4RS | VA | FM18hw | Tough conditions tonight. Could not hear 20m, but saw trace on the waterfall. 2 separate freqs actually, about 1 Hz apart. 40m and 80m were quite strong (both -70 dBm) but the energy was spread over about 1.75 Hz. I think I found a straight line. |
W8NN | MI | EN82bk | First time at this ... looking forward to FMT in April... Thanks... Bill |
KB0EW | MN | EN34JL | Thanks for the practice run. This is my second try. |
KA5QEP | OK | EM15mj | Good propagation, heard all frequencies. 20 meter west was a bit better. Thanks for the test. |
AF9A | IN | EM69 | Only able to copy a few CW characters on 20. Good signals on 40 and 80. Tnx! |
K1MC | EMA | FN42jk | ICOM IC-7100 transceiver using the AUTO TUNE function 10 Hz display resolution |
VE3OAT | ON | FN25eg | Thanks for the practice, Connie. Much needed here. Measured your West beam at just 50 millihertz (mHz) lower than the East beam, but much weaker signal of course. Lots of SSB QRM on 80m. Thanks again! |
W3JW | VA | FM17tn | 20M signal very weak (no S-meter reading) but copiable, 40M signal S9+10db and 80M signal s9+5db. As usual, 40 and 80 sigs had lots of multipath and doppler shift. Tnx fer the "tune-up"----73 |
KM6QX | EB | CM87 | Very strong signals, 40dB over noise floor on dipole for 20m & 40m. 33dB over on loop for 80m. |
WAS2DVU | SNJ | FM29NC | 20 M in the noise but could see scope trace and SL processsed it. 40 and 80 good copy. Thanks again Connie. |
WA2DVU | SNJ | FM29NC | 20 M was in the noise but could see trace and SL could process it! 40 and 80 fine. Thanks again Connie. |
VE2IQ | ON | FN15nt | Dipole, TS850 500-Hz CW mode, measure audio out. 20M-east: S1-S5 QSB, 20M-west: S0-S3. West measured 200 mHz higher than east. Submitting west, seemed more stable. 40M: S9, 80M: S9+10dB. Tnx for the run. |

Transmitting equipment used by K5CM for this FMT:
A HP Z3801 GPS frequency source clocks a HP-3336B. The output is feed to a 10 db transistor amp which drives a 12BY7 / pair 6146. Then to a MLA-2500 running about 400 watts. There are no mixers or any device in the chain of amplifiers that might impact the accuracy of the GPS frequency source. As a reality check, I periodically log the frequency source against WWV and other GPS referenced sources. I monitor each transmission with a completely separate receive system to look for any instability or short term drift.
I typically see considerably less than 1 mHz difference at 10 Mhz when comparing two Z3801's or a Z3801 and a Thunderbolt, over a 10 to 10,000 second period.
Antennas:
160 - Vertical
80 - Cage dipole. (favors West, North, East)
40 - Standard Dipole hanging between two 80 foot towers. (favors East, West)
20 - 4el SteppIR at 70'

Connie
